Job Summary Work Shift 1 - First Shift The Engineering Technician I – Additive produces, tests, and assembles prototype and production 3D printed components.
This position recommends opportunities to use additive manufacturing technologies in design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Exhibit the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors.
2.
Create prototype and/or new parts for existing machines.
3.
Organize and monitor raw material inventory for 3D printing.
4.
Post-processing additive manufacturing parts, gluing, sanding, cleaning, and/or modifying plastic or metal parts.
5.
Assist Marketing, Service, and Sales with requests for 3D printed aids.
6.
Organize, inspect, and manage build queue.
7.
Document and record print metrics, customer requests, quotes and billing.
Education and/or Experience - High School diploma.
- Technical School or skilled trade program in auto tech, diesel tech, industrial systems tech, ag systems tech or related field, preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of previous continuous improvement, tooling, design, or technician experience and/or job training.
Other Skills and Abilities - Understanding of design guidelines and electrical and hydraulic standards.
- Fundamental knowledge operating CAD equipment such as SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.
- Fundamental knowledge to safely operate tools and complete assigned processes.
- Fundamental knowledge in the areas of diagnostics and trouble shooting.
- Fundamental knowledge testing products for functions and operation level limits.
- Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.
- Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.
- Communicates input in a constructive way to improve output of other areas.
- Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills.
