Substitute Assoicaite Job Summary/Description: Ottumwa Community Schools is seeking substitutes for Regular and Special Education Associates to assist when employees are not able to be in attendance.
These positions are on a day-to-day, on-call, as-needed basis with no guarantee of regularly scheduled work.
Job Duties May Include: Regular Education Associate- Duties may include supervision of students before and/or after school, at recess and lunch, working with small groups of students, delivering mail or messages, creating, sorting or filing of teaching materials, or other duties as assigned.
Special Education Associate- Duties may include working with a wide variety of students with various needs on both academic and social skills.
Supervision of special needs students and regular educations students within the general education setting and other aspects of the school day.
Duties may require assisting students with toileting or diapering that may include lifting as well as other basic living skills.
Other duties may be assigned.
Special Education Behavior Associate- Duties may include working with students with behavioral challenges that require support, redirection and instruction in appropriate social skills.
Associates may provide supervision for special education students and regular education students within the general education classroom as well as other aspects of the school day.
Duties may require assisting students with toileting or diapering that may include lifting.
Duties may also include other basic living skills.
Hourly rates for the position is: $13.
79/hour Qualifications: You must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
